KB3176493 - Black Screen of Death

If you have recently experienced a Black Screen of Death in Windows 10 you may be the victim of unintended bug in the cumulative Windows 10 update KB3176493. This update was  rolled out by Microsoft in early August 2016 and many users have been experiencing BSOD as a result. I have confirmed through testing that this issue does affect fresh Windows 10 installations with no third party applications installed. I haven't had the opportunity to narrow down what exactly is conflicting to cause this problem; however, if you are lucky you may be able to work around it. Simply put, the solution is to uninstall the update. How to do that without access to the UI can be challenging. One method that will work is if you are able to issue the ctrl+alt+del at the black screen. This should allow you to launch task manager.From task manager access File > Run new task.  At the Create new task prompt select the browse button.
